QLD \ Brisbane \ Mount Gravatt (incororating Upper Mount Gravatt & Mount Gravatt East)

Mount Gravatt is located around 10km south of the Brisbane CBD. The suburb was originally one of Brisbane's largest, but was late divided up into Mount Gravatt, Mount Gravatt East, Upper Mount Gravatt and Wishart.

Westfield Garden City Shopping Centre

Westfield Garden city

Westfield Garden City is one of the largest shopping centres in Brisbane, and dominates the Mount Gravatt area. The centre features over 290 speciality stores, cafes and restaurants, as well as a Megaplex cinema.

Major tenants include David Jones, Kmart, Big W, Coles and Woolworths. Other large retailers in the complex are Harvey Norman, Rebel Sport, Office Works and Toys 'R' Us.

In addition to the retail component of the centre, Garden City also features its own town square. The large square features restaurants, cafes and bars, as well as the Megaplex cinema.

More expansion is planned for the centre, with Garden City being identified in Westfield's 2007 annual report as a candidate for a Myer store and further increases to the centre's size.

Public Transport

Mount Gravatt is well serviced by public transport, and is something of a transport hub for the southside of Brisbane. Housed within the retail precinct is the Garden City Bus station and the nearby Upper Mount Gravatt Busway Station. Many buses servicing the south of Brisbane pass through these stations.

Real Estate

Property in the Mount Gravatt area is very diverse, with parts of the suburb (notably Upper Mount Gravatt) enjoying magnificent views of the Brisbane CBD.
